I'm still tweaking the look of the website, but what do you think so far?
Along with the blog's face lift, I've added some new features. I hope you checked out the "Read With Me" tab. There will be lots more books there in the future. I encourage you to grab a copy of Miles Cressman's Dream Metropolis. I started it last night, and it's very unique. I like non-formulaic books, and this one definitely falls in that realm. You read with me, and we can discuss!
So now that we have a new look and new features, I'm also going to add some new voices! YAY!
Everyone welcome my sisters, A.L. and K.L. Or as they would like to be known, Pretty Sister Number One and Supah K...or Sweet Baby K, she can't make up her mind. We'll stick with A.L. and K.L. for now. They are not authors...yet...but they are avid readers. K.L. was a reading teacher for many years and has an unrivaled love of literature. A.L. loves to get lost in a good romance or zombie book...or maybe a werewolf fantasy. You name it...she'll read it...and let you know in so many words if it was worth her time.
They're both going to be joining me and have guest posts going while I'm on vacation in a few weeks. After that, look for their opinionated opinions about the books they are reading and stimulating interviews with the authors. I guarantee they will shoot you straight!

Read with me!
How do you like the way things are shaping up on my blog? Please...let me know.
You may have noticed another new tab. Look...right up there in the tab bar...it says "Read with Me".
When you get done reading this blog post go click it and take a look!
I'll be posting books there that I'm reading for review and interview. I hope you will download them and read along with me. Then you can leave comments on my review about how you felt about the book. There will also be "read by" dates. This is when the review will go up, so you know how quickly you need to read a book.
I'll also have a "questions by" date. This is when I'll be doing the author interview and if you would like to ask the author a question, I might included it!
How much fun is this going to be!
Leave me a note if you are going to read Miles Cressman's The Dream Metropolis with me.

Times, They are a Changin'
You may notice a few changes on my blog in the next couple of weeks. First, the colors and arrangement might change slightly. I'm sure you can handle that!
Second, you're going to start noticing more book reviews, author interviews, book giveaways, cover reveals, guest posts and MORE!
I'm trying something new by joining a couple of blog tour companies. You'll also notice their buttons popping up on my blog as well.
So DON'T FREAK OUT! Change is good. You may even find your next favorite book (besides mine of course!).

Am I A Writer?
This is the question all writers ask themselves. I mean, just because your write doesn't make you are REAL writer, right? That's what we tell ourselves. That's what we believe in our core. Each author has some elusive goal in mind, that when reached, will mean that they are a real writer. For some, it's when they make their first buck. Others seek certain recognition in awards or even fans. Me? I don't know. I didn't have a vision of my future in writing. I just wanted a fun job that made me more money than working at Wal-mart. I did that...but I still didn't feel like a real writer.
Then, I went car shopping with my husband. We only did this because my JOB is making it a possibility to afford one in the next year. When the salesman asked me, "What do you do?" I didn't give him the answer I've given my entire adult life, "I'm a mom." Instead, these words flew from my mouth, "I'm a writer." I think my heart stopped. I was mortified! I still don't know what possessed me to say that, but I did, and I couldn't take it back.
My pronunciation created a buzz at the car dealership. Before I knew it the manager had come out and was googling me on his iphone! Then he downloaded my books from Amazon. People were asking me if I had paperbacks with me and if I would sign them.
Surreal.
Needless to say, I probably won't be announcing to strangers in the future that I'm a writer. That was very stressful for me because I'm actually a very shy person...in person. My husband loved it. He's an attention monger so he was giddy with power.
Anyway, I think this little incident was my turning point. Being a writer has become part of me, and me part of it. It's what I am now...along with being a wife and a mom.
So...
Am I a writer? Yes. Yes, I am.
